Historic Links With Robert Mays School
The link between the school and Odiham Charities started in 1877 when the Charity Commission required a charity for the Poor of Odiham, the very wealthy Gurney Charity which owned land in London, to provide more than half of the funds needed to re-endow the school.
In return the Gurney trustees could nominate 5 governors of the school. In 1886 the Gurney trust became part of Odiham Consolidated Charities who continued to appoint governors (now called Trustees).
